Healthier pitches, stronger partnerships, better play.
A natural grass pitch is a living surface, and like anything living it thrives on the right care at the right time. Left to chance, even a well-built pitch becomes patchy, weed-ridden, compacted, and prone to waterlogging, cutting playing hours and putting players at risk. With a properly planned maintenance programme, the same pitch becomes a dense, hard-wearing, great-looking surface that drains well, recovers quickly, and gives you more games, more safely, season after season.
Stronger Partnerships, Better Pitches
What sets our Natural Turf service apart is the way we work. Through our close relationships with the County Football Associations, we are one of the only contractors in the country able to bring the club, the County FA, and the contractor together under one tailored support programme. That joined-up approach means everyone is pulling in the same direction; from the first survey tright through to a thriving, well-maintained pitch.
For clubs accessing the Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund, this partnership makes the process simpler and the results stronger, with expert support guiding you from beginning to end. But you don’t need to be part of the fund to work with us. We’re here to help any club improve its pitch, whatever your starting point and whatever your budget.
What Our Partners Say
More Than Just Football
While football is at the heart of what we do, our turfcare expertise reaches much further. We work with clubs and facilities across a wide range of sports and settings, including rugby pitches, cricket outfields, golf courses, and private estates and grounds.
Wherever there’s natural turf that needs to perform and look its best, we have the knowledge, equipment, and programmes to deliver it.
Our Natural Turf Services
Great pitches aren’t the result of any single treatment—they come from a coordinated programme carried out at the right points in the season. We offer the full range of professional turfcare services, tailored to the condition, usage, and goals of your surface.
Herbicide (Weed Killing) & Fertiliser Application
Weeds compete with your grass for light, water, and nutrients, weakening the sward and creating uneven, unsafe playing conditions. Our selective herbicide treatments target weeds, moss, and unwanted growth without harming the grass you want to keep, restoring a clean, uniform surface.
Healthy growth then depends on the right nutrition. We provide both granular and liquid fertiliser application, matched to your soil and the time of year, to strengthen root development, deepen colour, and improve recovery from heavy use.
Overseeding & Top Dressing
Constant play thins the sward and opens up bare, worn areas, particularly in high-traffic zones like goalmouths and centre circles. Overseeding introduces fresh, hard-wearing grass varieties into the existing surface, filling those gaps and increasing density.
Top dressing complements this by applying carefully selected sand or sand/soil blends across the surface to improve levels, aid drainage, dilute thatch, and create the ideal seedbed for new growth.
Aeration & Scarifying
Heavy use compacts the soil beneath your pitch, squeezing out the air and space that roots need and leaving water with nowhere to go. Aeration relieves that compaction, opening up the rootzone to improve drainage, encourage deeper rooting, and let the surface breathe; one of the single most important treatments for a healthy, free-draining pitch.
Scarifying tackles the build-up of thatch and dead organic matter that accumulates at the base of the sward. Left unchecked, thatch holds water, harbours disease, and chokes new growth. By removing it, we improve airflow, water movement, and the effectiveness of every other treatment, keeping your turf clean, healthy, and primed to grow.
